The Artists for Change club is dedicated to serving the community through fun art activities. These can include creating posters to raise awareness about issues, making cards, creating bracelets to be given away, and inspire creativity.

This club is designed to spark Rio Americano student's creativity. Every meeting will be a time to relieve stress and just have fun making crafts. There will be no experience needed. In past years during Thursday at lunch, we have made clay sculpts, macaroni art, paper origami, and more.

In BPA, there are two main competitions, where students can explore many different areas in the business field, whether in a group or individually. There is an international in-person conference held every year, and this year it is in Nashville, Tennessee. There is also a virtual competition, where students can compete in things like 2D animation, Virtual Interview, Ethical Debate, and more; there is no limit as to how many competitions one competes in. In person competitions allow students to take tests open to everyone without any limits of how many tests you participate in, however you can only have 2 events outside of tests.

Rio kids can come to club meetings certain Thursdays at lunch in room H-05. The arts and crafts made during the meetings would go to the Happy Tails pet shelter. These things could be sewing toys/blankets, paintings of cats, and more for the shelter to either auction off or keep for their cats! This club is combining with Linnea Bohan's Arts and Crafts club so please put us at the same table! Thank you!

The environmental club hopes to spread awareness about environment and how to better support it. The club plans to organize river clean ups and a book drive. During meetings we'll teach different ways to be environmentally friendly.

This club is focused on American civics, community service, and a little bit of American history. It is directly connected to the Sacramento Chapter of Founding Forward. Founding Forward is a national organization that strives to inspire civic engagement through service and educational challenges. The Sacramento Chapter will host events outside of school that the members of the club will prepare for at school meetings. Some of these events include but are not limited to the Constitution Bowl, packing gift boxes to deployed service members with Blue Star Moms, and the Mock Article V convention.

Game Show Club would be dedicated to a friendly and inviting club every two weeks at lunch on Friday. The club would do different types of game shows each week on some type of topic whilst also learning. It would not just be a joke, but people would also learn about topics such as history, technology, science, etc in hope that they can learn something new each time.

Our main goal is to help with the barriers between the refugee girls within your classes and girls around the school. We wanted to help them with English as well as learn about their culture and have more understanding of their lives. This club brings together the different cultures around Rio, specifically in the womanhood of the cultures. Our plans depend on the day but we we usually do activities within the classroom.

The HOSA Club facilitates student exploration of healthcare fields through activities, studying, and competition. The HOSA Club competes in study events and skills events at the regional level, with the hope of continuing to states. The club also holds open in-house conferences with games, pizza, candy, presentations by medical professionals, and testing.

We are a club for both Jewish student and also non-Jewish students who are interested in learning more about the religion and for some, bonding with other Jewish students. We will have monthly meetings, with some special meetings around the holiday. The meetings will be interactive and have opportunities for learning, conversations, and hands-on activities.

We compete with local schools in timed math competitions to test and hone our skills. The team is divided into 3 sections, with the A team harboring the best competitors we have. Each competitor does problems in 3 of 5 sections, those being Algebra, Arithmetic, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Problem Solving.

Mock Trial serves as a space for aspiring attorneys to practice basic case law and provide a foundation for the procedures in the court room. Practices will prepare members for the Sacramento County competitions where the team will hopefully be very successful and continue to the state competition.

Model UN is an academic simulation of the United Nations. Model UN teaches students diplomatic skills such as public speaking, debate, and good research skills. Model UN also informs students about international relations and global/political issues.

Quiz Bowl is a 4 vs 4 game in which participants answer questions via tossups and bonuses to get more points than their opponent. In our club, we will practice playing Quiz Bowl both for fun and to practice for tournaments.

A student-led organization, that supports the American Red Cross' mission by volunteering in community service activities, disaster preparedness, health and safety training (like first aid and CPR), blood drives, and fundraisers. This club especially hopes to empower students with leadership and life-saving skills, foster community, and contribute to humanitarian efforts by addressing local and international issues.

At school: two Mondays a month- typically two weeks apart. Taking place during lunch in room A-05. Activity days at Saint John’s will take place the following Saturday of the second lunch meeting from 11-12 at the Saint John’s shelter.

Every month a group of Rio volunteers would go into the Saint John’s shelter and do arts and crafts with the kids. It would be once a month, typically the 3rd Saturday, from 11-12! Fun way for Rio kids to earn hours and for the Saint John’s kids to express themselves creatively!

We host weekly meetings at lunch in room H-6, Tuesday and Thursday. We play board games, card games, and other tabletop games. Additionally there is a discord server to allow people to discuss and organize games outside of school. We also play TTRPGs such as D&D, but due to the length of those games, they’ll have to be scheduled outside of school.

Taylor Swift Club has weekly club meetings involving Recent Taylor News, Listening to music, and Weekly Activities (ex: Karaoke, Lyric Analysis, Kahoots, Potlucks, and more). Annually or Semi-Annually, the club will meet outside of school for some large gathering to celebrate something in the Taylor Swift Community (ex: The Eras Tour Movie Release Watch Party and Potluck).
