FAFSA 2025-2026

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), is now open for you and your student to complete.  The FAFSA is the essential step in securing financial aid for college.  This application is used by four year and two year colleges. 

Note: Students who plan to attend a community college need to complete the FAFSA even though they have not yet applied to their college.

  • The deadline for California state aid is March 2nd

How to Prepare

Families should plan to have the following materials available when attending a workshop:

  • 2024 tax information (Forms 1040 and W2)
  • FSA ID (for FAFSA filers)
  • Driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Social Security card (if applicable)
  • Alien Registration card (if applicable)
  • List of colleges being considered
  • Most current bank balances
  • Any records of untaxed income
